Our Day with Santa

We had our day planned a few weeks ago. We were going to travel to North Park mall to see Santa this year. I had always heard that he was the best "Santa". We made plans to have Nana and Papaw come out to meet us at the mall. I woke Gracie up from her nap early, got her dressed for the car and we met GG in Plano. We drove to the mall, got her all dressed up in the back of my car, wrapped her up in coat and hat (it was very windy and chilly) and we were off! We had such high hopes for the day....

She looks so happy, doesn't she?

As we were walking to Santa's workshop, we kept saying "Wow! No one is here!" We couldn't believe we had beat the rush. We strolled up and there was a greeter at the door to tell us that Santa was sick. What? Have you ever heard of such a thing. For all you people that visited North Park mall this past weekend some little kid got poor Santa sick! We were so disappointed! No back up Santa, no substitute? Poor Nana and Papaw were coming all the way to meet us!

Owell! We decided to take a few pictures of her looking so cute!

She just smiled and smiled at Nana and Papaw. I love it when she wrinkles up her nose when she smiles!

We thought we could get Papaw to fill in and wear the red suit but the didn't think so!

After we took a few more pictures Nana and Papaw decided to go home. We looked around a bit then realized we had Nana's purse attached to Gracie's stroller. Oops! We hauled out to the car, threw her in and got all loaded up, drove around the parking lot looking for them, but ended up having to drive to their house to drop of her puse. After we did that I said "well, we are right here by the Galleria...." So we decided to go and see Santa, again!

We found Santa and he was there and well at the Galleria. There was NO ONE in line and only 1 family of kids sitting on Santa's lap. She was all smiles before Santa and well, you know what happened when we sat her down...
We ended our journey with lunch and chocolate cake. Gracie loved watching the ice skaters. GG got some cute pictures on her camera that I will upload later. Phew, what a day!
