We headed to Nebraska the day of the 4th for a visit with the family. We arrived on Sunday around 1:00. We got to see the whole family and have dinner Sunday before they headed back to Omaha. All the kids took good naps and then it was time for some water fun!
We tried (VERY hard) to get a picture with all 3 cousins. It wasn’t an easy task. Matti was the best, sitting so nice. Gracie just wanted to see the “baby” and I couldn’t get one with all 3 looking! Here are some that I did get.
We tried moving Gracie to be by the baby then Easton got down and that was the end of that!
Here is Auntie Amber and Auntie Dana with Easton and Gracie
Gracie was in LOVE with Matti. She just crazy. She was shy around her at 1st then when the baby was on her floor mat or in her chair she just couldn’t get enough of her!
Easton trying to sneak a kiss from Gracie!
Kelly and I even got to hold the baby for awhile. You just forget what it’s like to have something so small in your arms! I was even scared to pick her up!
We had a great dinner with Walleye fish (yum!) and then got to play outside for a little more.
The kids even had frozen go-gurt outside. Gracie loved it!!
It was a very short visit with the cousins but we are so glad we got to see them!
Monday, July 5th
After Gracie’s morning nap we took her down the street to the neighborhood park. She had the whole thing to herself. Some of the slides were hot already so we didn’t stay for long but she had fun climbing and going down with her Daddy!
As you can see, she is not a fan of swings. Is my child the only one who doesn’t like to swing???
See why Gracie loves her Daddy? He has as much fun has she does!! I’m really not sure if 30 year olds are made for this slide but he did it anyways!
That afternoon we stayed around the house and played more outside with water and bubbles!
Tuesday, July 6th
After Gracie’s nap we took her out shopping looking for a new Husker t-shirt to wear in the fall. We went in a few stores and couldn’t find one to fit her. We did do some shopping in down town Columbus and ate Mexican food for lunch! Gracie was so crazy during lunch. She said “All done!” at the top of her lungs when we had only been sitting for like 5 minutes. I ended up letting her out because I could see everyone’s eyes on me. She running up and down with a tortilla, beans were dripping out. I was thinking “where is my sweet child that usually sits so calm and sweet in her high chair???” She was not there that day!
She took an early nap and when she got up we took her to get a strawberry milk shake! She kept saying “Nummy, Nummy!”
Gracie had so much fun playing with toys Grandma had saved from Auntie Dana and Auntie Amber.
Then she got to cool off with the sprinklers!
She also “helped” Grandma get the corn ready
She did good, don’t you think???
She played some more with bubbles outside while we visited with Grandma and Grandpa Gauger.
We had a really good visit. We were really worried about Gracie because before we left she had been running a low grade fever and very irritable but she seemed to be pretty good while we were there. She did show off her true self with her temper though. She did give lots of hugs and kisses too showing her sweet self. We got up early on Wednesday and made the long, long, long drive home. 11 and 1/2 hours long drive home. We are looking forward to Grandma and Grandpa coming here next time!!!!
