A Few Days Down

We’ve made it through the first few days of school and it hasn’t been easy (and school hasn’t even started yet!) Gracie has had a rough transition- as to be expected- but it’s still hard. She cried off an on all day the first day at the sitter’s house. I only called 2 times but both times she was crying and just plain upset. Nothing makes your heart hurt more as a Mommy when your baby is crying and you can’t scoop them up and stop the tears.

She did get to spend the night on Tuesday at Ali, Kirk, and Maxum’s house which she loved! We had to go to a district wide “pep rally” at 7 in the morning so we had to leave our house at 6:20. She had a wonderful time over there so I was glad.

She’s been super happy to see us but also super whinny, crying, and well, screaming. I think she’s still exhausted from our trip and just totally confused. I feel so bad for her that she doesn’t understand why we keep leaving her.

I’m happy to report though that she’s been doing better every day. The past 2 days have been better. She has been the only kiddo with her new sitter and I think that’s been great for them to build a relationship. Gracie helps her make some sort of food from scratch every day and they do fun projects together.

She is still exhausted when she comes home. She basically wants dinner and then to bed. We’re trying to keep her up until at least 6:30. Poor baby!

Begging to go night-night

Ahhh....I'm sure she'll get into the swing of things. She's such a cute little munchkin'. :)

Hang in there... She'll adjust, and so will you. I know it must be hard. She really knows how loved she is though, and aren't those reunions so sweet? It will get better.
