My Girl

I had the “privilege” of taking Gracie to school today. Let me just tell you that I think it will be my last day. She woke up around 6:15 and it was non-stop running around until we ran out the door at 8:25.  I was totally stressing about her lunch (you can’t send ANYTHING with nuts or made in a nut factory…), and her clothes. It was cool in the morning but then warmed up into the 80’s. I did have fun dressing her and I think she tried on around 3 outfits. Pants are just way too long on her right now!

I did think she looked pretty cute in her little jeans. These are a size 18 months… and I’d say this is the 3rd time in her entire life that she’s worn jeans. Weird, I know but jeans just seem too stiff on her. She even walked like a tin man at first. This little outfit came with really cute denim pants with a cute print at the bottom and they seem to be long enough for a 5 year old!

I fully intended on taking in my camera and snapping a few cute pictures of her in her class because I knew I’d probably never get the chance to take her to school again. After gathering all the crap I had to take in plus her, there was no way I could manage a 10 pound camera too.

And it’s a good thing that I didn’t bring in my camera because my little muffin started crying the minute we pulled into the church parking lot. Whimpering at first then whining… when I got out of the car and we started walking in it turned into full blown screaming holy terror of a mess. I went the wrong way in the car pool line too. All the ‘regular’ moms were completely staring at me. I didn’t know where to put her mat and her teacher glared at me. I felt like the biggest idiot, but hey I was a newbie! My mom called to check on her and felt bad for not telling me all the ‘rules’.

I felt really bad about her crying but I left without tears… What did I do while she was at school? I ran around like a crazy person trying to get stuff done. I went to a new chiropractor and he cured my migraine I had for 8 days straight, went to get a flu shot, ordered her cake for her party, shopped for her party, re-arranged furniture, and a zillion other things. The time went by so fast and it was 2:00 before I knew it. I was the first parent to pick up and my little gal was SOOOOO happy to see me. She showed me by screaming “Momma!!!!” and immediately broke out into tears. What a mess I tell you.
