I just love, love, love when Gracie is singing. It is mostly in the car. If Kelly and I are together and are talking she’ll be singing away. It’s the cutest thing! She was singing so sweetly so I tried so quietly to catch her but it just wasn’t the same…
“Twinkle, Twinkle”
Notice her jumping on the table? I had to stop the video because we are not allowing that so I had to intervene! One of our favorite songs she sings is “Apples and Banana’s” The real song goes something like this “I like to eat, eat, eat apples and bananas. I like to oat, oat, oat, opples and banono’s…” Cute, cute song… Her version: “eat, eat, eat apples and nana’s… oat, oat, oat apples and nana’s,” I would love to get that on video! Maybe I’ll just bring the camera in the car!!
Isn’t that a cute shot I got of the cutie cousins? Poor Maxum was down all last week with the nasty pig flu. We are so glad he is back feeling good again :)
Over the weekend I made Kelly’s favorite snack bars. He loves it when I make them! They are very easy and a good snack for him. Well, Miss Piggy got a good look and kept saying “Yummy” so I thought I’d let her have a try. She went nuts over them, literally and kept gobbling them up. She would say “more bars, please.” I guess now I have to make some more :)
Kelly’s Favorite Snack Bars:
(Mine never look this pretty!)
Ingredients
- 2 cups quick-cooking rolled oats
- 2 cups Rice Krispies
- 1/2 cup craisins (dried cranberries)
- 1/2 cup shredded coconut ( I omit this!)
- 3/4 cup almonds, sliced
- 3/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
-
Line a 9 x 13 inch sheet pan with parchment paper. Set aside. -
Mix rolled oats, cereal, craisins, coconut and almonds in a large bowl. Set aside. (I cut the coconut with two knives so it will not be stringy.) -
In a saucepan, mix corn syrup and brown sugar. Bring to a boil while stirring. Add peanut butter and vanilla. Stir just to blend well. -
Pour over oats and fruit mixture. Stir and mix well. Press mixture firmly onto pan. (I place a piece of wax paper on top while pressing hard.) Let cool and cut into bars. Store in air-tight container. Freezes well, if securely wrapped. -
Enjoy!
