After much waiting, we finally made it to the State Fair of Texas today!!
We were hoping for better weather but it was still fun. We let Gracie take a morning nap and then we packed up the car and headed on down to see Big Tex. We get free tickets through school plus Gracie was free, so we HAD to go :)
Can you tell how thrilled she is??? She wanted my water bottle. It was a little chilly (52 degrees) I had her all bundled up underneath but she would not wear her hat :( Our first stop, the ferris wheel!
Pretty cool to look at but not cool to wait in the LONG line. We were starving, so 2nd stop, food!
There is nothing like a Fletcher’s Corny Dog! She took all of 2 bites then Kelly finished off the rest. O-well! Next stop, big Tex!
He sure is big!
Want a cracker? We were at the fair where they have the BEST food and all she would eat were saltine crackers… she’s on a food strike… AGAIN!
If you go to the Texas fair you have to stop and talk to the body-less man. He is a hoot! really!
She did finally eat some ch. chip cookies..
Don’t you love 2 year olds… Won’t sit still for 2 seconds!
We nixed the petting zoo when the line was out the door/plus with the swine flu going around…. We decided on the live cattle area.
Saying Hello to Mrs. Cow, She’s never seen a cow that close up! Talk about up close and personal.
Love this one!
What a fun day at the fair! We did the fly by version, very fast trip but it was still fun. We also ate a yummy funnel cake but no picture of that because at that point we were chasing after here, pushing the stroller, and eating! See ya’ next year Big Tex!

Glad y'all had fun! We're hoping to go on Wednesday, if the weather cooperates.
Really great pictures of each of you with Gracie. So good. Did they have the dog show that day? The dog show is a staple of the fair! Glad you got to go. (These things are always more fun in theory, though, aren't they? Then you actually go and it's a lot of work!!)
