GG has always made fun gak with Gracie and Maxum. It’s similar to play-dough but doesn’t get hard and stuck in carpet. Gracie just loves it so we made up a batch for our house. It’s actually very easy to make and Gracie loved helping me….
It does take a lot of glue but that was an easy job for her to do.
We made ours a little festive by adding some red food coloring.
2 whole cups of Elmer's glue!
Waiting for it to set a little.
When it was all set we put it in a bag and the kneading started. She loved doing this!
She even got to jump on it!
Make your own Gak!
2 cups of Elmer's glue (about 4 and 1/2 bottles)
1 and 1/2 cup tap water
2 tsp. Borax (in detergent isle)
1 cup hot water
food coloring (optional)
In a large bowl combine 2 cups Elmer's glue to 1 and 1/2 c tap water
In another bowl add Borax to hot water. Stir. Slowly add glue mixture. With hands knead the mixture as it’s getting hard (looks like cottage cheese) Add food coloring if you want. Carefully pour out excess water. Pour entire mixture on a cookie sheet or pan to let harden. It takes about 20 or so minutes to get to right consistency. Dump gak into a gallon size bag and knead it. Then, Play!
This entertains Gracie for hour on end. She prefers to make a ‘city’ and add animals and play-dough toys.
