Gracie Girl

I haven’t done a real update on our little bug in awhile. She’s a busy bee that’s for sure. I was worried that she’d be bored this summer but we have managed to stay busy- so busy in fact that she’s managed to take 2-3 hour naps every day! Phew it’s a blessing to us. She is a major early bird though. Up around 6 and with her nap she stays up later sometimes 9 or 9:30 but we are happy right now with our arrangement. We both like a break in the afternoons and she feels better with a good rest.
Gracie is VERY independent these days. So independent that she even goes potty all by herself and doesn’t even tell us 1/2 the time until she’s already done and out washing her hands. It’s WONDERFUL! She’s such a big girl   It’s feels so nice that she can do these things on her own because I can trust her a bit more. Usually if I was home alone with her and needed to shower I'd make her come get on my bed and watch tv while I was right there. She doesn’t need this anymore. Today I told her I was going up to shower and she said “Okay Mommy, I’m gunna stay right here and color.” She was in her playroom downstairs. It was super quiet when I was finishing up and I came down and she was still in there just playing away. Now she still likes to be attached to my hip at times but it’s nice to have some freedom too! She's very much into drawing lady bugs these days. She was asking me how many legs they had the other day. We're working on her letters and sounds too. Just trying to keep it simple and fun!
This weekend she went right off the diving board all by herself for the first time. We were super impressed! (Especially her Daddy!) She just started going again and again. It was super fun!
Now I’m not going to sit here and say that everything here is all rainbows and ice cream all the time. She is VERY bossy at times and likes things her way (which she is used to getting). She pouts and her big lip comes out but she is testing us all the time! We’re very quick to show her who is boss! She likes to think that she rules us!
We do love our little girl to pieces, just the way she is!


I’ve got lots of new posts coming up soon. This weekend we went to the Great Wolf Lodge for the day, she went off the diving board on Father’s Day, and she started swimming lessons Today! More to come!!
