Practice makes perfect

Lately Gracie has really (finally) getting into writing her letters. I'd be totally lying if I said it has been easy. We've had battles over this. She's pretty stubborn & does not like working at home. The teacher in me has said she should already know how to write her name by now. Its taken LOTS of patience on my part. Somehow when you work with special Ed kids all day & your 4 year old can't do something you think they're dyslexic too. I see how these kids struggle every second & I don't want that for her. Luckily things have started clicking for her.

We mostly work on her name. She's getting better with the G's. She does much better when I make a dot for her to start.

Then last night we went all out did her full name. Elizabeth is going to take time! I did help with the u. She's very good at I's & capital e.

And she's pretty plum proud of herself when she gets it! This is at papaw's after a Mardi gras parade!

One last thing I thought was sweet. I put her to bed then heard these sounds. Banging. I go in and she had made all these beds for her friends. She's the sweetest thing!
