Spring Break

We had a great spring break but it went by too fast. Gracie kept me busy so it wasn't a whole lot of relaxing! The only day we didn't do anything was the 1st sat. Gracie and I didn't leave the house and stayed in pj's all day!

Make her stop growing! She's grown almost 1/2 in since Oct!
Monday we got to meet the newest 4 legged Hughes. Meet Tank!

Maxum and family adopted him from dfw labs. I call him frank the tank b/c he is a giant and still a puppy!!

He is a beautiful dog!
Later K took her to the park while I cashed in some gift cards to stock up on baby essentials.

Look at the cute diaper bag I got for $9.99! It was next to $250 bags! Love a good deal!
Tues was our family fun day! We wanted to do the new Perot museum in Dallas. We got there 30 min early and it was already sold out for the day! Our next choice was the aquarium across the street. It's always fun but $$.

And, omg, soo crowded. I grew VERY impatient with all the strollers. The paths are narrow enough so my patience was thin! We did see cool things.

The shark tank is pretty awesome and we did get to see the jaguar up in person- which is rare! He was sound asleep and just beautiful. My fav is the ginormous manatee. She just looks so friendly and playful.
After we'd had enough people we walked around downtown and then to the new Warren park. It's this cool park created right in dt that's kid friendly and has food trucks!

The lines were insane! I was glad I brought her snacks. We let her play in the sunshine then we headed home.

The sign of a busy day. Lasted about 10 min!

This Momma was beat too with all the walking. I came home and slept nearly 2 hrs!!

Wednesday GG, Ali, & Maxum came over to help fix up the nursery. We are nearly there!

Thursday Kelly got up and left for Austin for 2 nights to see a friend and go to SXSW. Gracie had a big day. First the dentist. Gracie was sooooo excited. She loves the dentist. Don't ask me why! The good news is we got a great report and see ya in 6 mths. Yea! Then GG and friends took grand kids to lunch and bowling!

She had a great time. I had some time to myself then we got our house cleaned. It was wonderful!! We hadn't had it done since Oct and it was way overdue! So nice to have clean floors and countertops! That night G and I had a girls night. Movies and snacks in bed. Took her forever to sleep but finally it happened!

Fri morning I had insomnia so I was up at 6. She woke up around 6:30 and I made us breakfast in bed. Cinnamon rolls, yum! Then she said "what are us two girls going to do today??"

We had a little time in the morning to play then we had lunch with Papaw.

She loves arts and crafts, or projects, as she calls them!

She stayed with GG for awhile so I could go to the dr. My first and now forever- weekly apt! All is well with baby. Had my first physical check, not pleasant- and I'm at a '0'. Big surprise. Just means c/sec is good I have it scheduled. My hw was to get my hospital bag ready! Hello anxiety!!
Gracie helped me put a few things together for baby.

Saturday was our one day with NO plans. It was nice. She played while I listed things to sell online then later we went to the library and fed the ducks.

It was a gorgeous day but so windy. Owell, we made a few ducks and turtles happy! After lunch daddy came hm! Yea!!! We were both so excited to see him!
We had fun plans for that night. I made her take a nap with me then we were off to a basketball game! We were given free tickets to a Texas legends game. Not quite the NBA but still fun!

Who doesn't love nachos, peanuts, and cotton candy???

It was very kid friendly with bounce houses and fun kid stuff going on during the game!

Sunday we woke up to yet another exciting day. St Patricks Day AND Daddy's bday! Gracie and I snuck out and got him bday donuts! Then we let him relax while we played and made him a cake.

She's become quite the cake maker!

She and Kelly played with chalk outside.

We had snacks for lunch because we took him out to dinner early.

I cracked up at her faces! Then it was home for cake!

She kept saying "daddy, how old are you? We don't have enough candles!"

Phew. What a great week we had. We all had the Sunday night blues because our fun wk was over. It was so nice to just do whatever we wanted to with no rules or schedules! Our last spring break as a 3!!
