Gracie and I have been busy bees around here doing something every day. It’s sure is fun to stay busy but it seems like our summer is already flying by so fast!
Monday we went for a nice, long walk in the morning. I wore her out! When we got back she laid down on the couch and said “nigh-nigh!” We also went to the allergist and she was so good while I got my yucky shots and blood work done.
Daddy was showing her something really good (I’m sure) on the computer.
On Tuesday we head to GG’s house because cousin Paula was in town from San Antonio! She was here visiting for a bit because she got a great new job that she will start in a week or so working with rape victims and domestic abuse victims. She has worked very hard on her masters for a good job like this! Alison and Maxum came too and we had lunch and got to visit for awhile.
It was so good to see her and you know Gracie and Maxum did a good job of showing off all their skills for cousin Paula. She must think these two are wild Indians!
These 2 are just too cute!
Back at home she had a nice, long nap and then enjoyed a snack on the couch!
Wednesday morning we went for our daily walk and even got sprinkled on. It was so nice! I love how she thinks she can take this 95 pound dog on a walk, yeah right!
At breakfast I took some pictures of this girls hair to show how out of control it is! I know it is still going to get worse before it gets better. I’m having to hide my scissors…
See what a mess it is?? So, we experimented with some rubber bands. She didn’t like it at first but then settled for just one!
She danced for a bit:
Riding on Daddy’s back after a nice bath!
Wednesday night we saw on tv we were right in the path of some bad, bad storms. Funnel clouds were being spotted all over the place just west of us. It was time for G to go to bed but we kept her up. We got our storm closet cleaned out (our 2 X 2 closet under the stairs). We got our flashlights all set and were standing out in the hall waiting. Within seconds we started hearing loud winds, our sirens started going off, and we heard this horrible noise (sounded like a train). We all jumped into the closet so fast. Jack was there too-breathing heavily with his stinky-dog breath!) Poor little G was scared. Our lights were out so it was dark and hot. We stayed in our closet for about 25 minutes (the longest we’ve EVER had to take shelter here!) I was really scared at first but then we could tell things were calming down. After about 30 min. we came out but still without power. We didn’t have power for over 3 hours. Poor G was sooo tired, but she knew something was up. I let her play with my cell phone for awhile. She loved that and continued to make random calls to people!
I know it looks like there was light but that was just the flash- it was pitch dark! Finally she went to sleep all sweaty but around 10:30 our power and air came back on!
All that in just 3 days! We have a lot more planned for today and tomorrow then it will be the weekend. Yea!
