A Big Girl!!!

Gracie did something very big tonight, she went tee-tee in the potty all by herself, and it was her idea!!!

I bought her a cute, princess potty back in June just for her to see it and get used to it. She’s sat on it several times just for fun. Lately she’s been VERY interested in the bathroom, always wanting to be in there. This afternoon she said “I wanna go tee-tee.” She’s never really said that before so I took off all her clothes and she sat and sat on the potty. I kept saying “ Are you finished?” and she’d say “No.” So, we just left her in there a little bit… 5 minutes… 10 minutes later…. nothing. We were going to the park so I got her up and dressed. At dinner tonight she would barely eat anything and she kept saying again “I wanna go tee-tee” over and over. I really thought she was just saying it to get out of eating.

We finally realized she was done so I stripped her down and off she ran around the corner to her potty. I was thinking that if she wanted to go in there so bad and “pretend” more power to her. A few minutes later she came back and said “I went tee-tee. I made a mess.” I was thinking ‘yeah, right!’ I followed her into the bathroom and low and behold she did go tee-tee in the potty and on the floor. I don’t know if she stood up when she was going or what but she peed a river and it was in the potty, on the potty, and on the floor. I was pretty much in shock! It was probably just a fluke thing and it won’t happen again but we were so proud of her! I gave her a cookie for a treat. She took it and then gave it to Jack. I’ll have to get some M & M’s (those worked great trying to get her to walk on the sand!!)
