A Little of this and a Little of That

Just a little hello and to tell you how things are going with us.

Gracie at dinner the other night:

We call this her “Slick Rick” look. She’d just had a bath. We have to give her baths early now to wake her up a bit so she will stay up until at least 6:30!

I really didn’t think she need a fork for nuggets, string cheese, and strawberries. I was using the fork to cut up her nuggets and she grabbed the fork right out of my hands!

This is what you call multi-tasking!

Notice the poor, sad dog in the background? We now have to make him stay in the “holding” area during meals or she will just throw everything on the floor for him.

GG got to keep Gracie all day today for the first time in a long time! They went shopping and GG bought her some new shoes. She’s recently hit another foot growth spurt and is almost ready for a size 6 shoe!!

She LOVES her new shoes. She kept showing them off to me and Kelly this afternoon and kept saying “new shoes” “so toot!”

And finally…. Gracie just being her silly little self!

Things are slowly getting better with her new sitter. She just isn’t napping good and comes home totally exhausted and in a HORRIBLE mood. Her sitter is so sweet though and takes her to the story time at the library and even took her to the Arboretum. She goes to her sitter M/T/W, Thursdays/Fridays GG keeps her- but next Friday she starts SCHOOL!! I won’t be able to make it to her meet the teacher or to take her the first day which makes me very sad but I’m going to make my mom take pictures for me! She meets her teachers next Wednesday morning and then starts Friday.

School for us is going okay. We’ve only had 4 days with kids and it feels more like months! Kelly has pretty good 5th graders (so far). I am working with some kids that are dyslexic (which is new for me so I’m having to go to lots of trainings). I also have some kids that have emotional disorders and that makes for LONG days and walking on a lot of eggshells around them. You fellow and former teachers know what I”m talking about! Right now all 3 of us are wiped out when we get home. We are really looking forward to Labor Day weekend to have a day off!
