This weekend is the 30th annual Plano Balloon festival. We had been looking forward to this for weeks (especially because we get free tickets being teachers!) I had been telling Gracie about all the big balloons we’d see and she ‘seemed’ so excited!
Here she is as we were getting ready to go.
I double checked the website before we went just to make sure everything was set (it has still been raining now for 7 days straight!) The site said they were up and ready so we drove as fast as we could, parked, and walked the mile to the park in the mud and all. We get there and I’m not seeing any balloons being set up. (They were supposed to launch at 6.) I finally ask someone and they told us the sad news; no balloons would be launching tonight due to the weather. We were so bummed!
What? No balloons???
Do you see this face? Do I look happy?
Thank goodness I brought her some juice, real juice. That always makes her happy.
We walked around for about 10 minutes. The worst part was, neither of us had any cash (we used our only $$ on parking !) And there was so much good food there, like good, fair food. We could only look. It’s a good thing she doesn’t ask for stuff she sees like every other kid there begging for stuff!
We did find her a balloon and funny that neither of us saw what was written on it until we got home!
So after and little walking and some major food envy, we left. We had a long walk back to the car and she enjoyed every minute of it!
Next year we’re paying more $$ for better parking, we’re brining more $$ for food and it better not rain!
Here is what it looked like last year. Look how much she has changed!
Today marked her 3rd day of Children’s Day Out. It’s hard being cute, isn’t it???
