This morning we did something so fun and SO Easy! We went to see Santa!! The fun part was seeing Santa and the easy part was waiting in line. We didn’t have to- someone got smart this year and started a ‘virtual' line for Santa. We logged in at 9:30 to get ‘in line’ on line and we were #23. We got a text message saying we had 70 minutes. How awesome is that??? So instead of waiting around in a long, long line we got to wait at home. Gracie had a nice pancake breakfast in her playroom and played with her little people nativity set.
Pretty soon we got a text that we had 20 minutes and we were out the door! We got there and walked right up. How nice is that?????
We couldn’t believe how Gracie was acting. She was not scared at all!
When we got into the actual hut to see Santa she sorta hid behind me. There was one family in front of us so that gave her a minute to see what was going to happen. When it was her turn Santa called her over and she went right over to him. She never smiled a big smile and she sorta kept her eyes on me making sure I wasn’t going to leave her but I thought she did really well. Here is the picture we got.
You can see not an overly joyous smile but I was thrilled! There was another sorta cute one where Santa was giving her a hug but his beard was covering her face so we chose this one. She told Santa exactly what she wanted; a black baby (for real!) and silly bands. I was really proud how clear she said it and Santa understood her. She didn’t whisper it like I thought she would. He looked at me after she said it and winked. He told her Santa can’t make any promises but he would try very hard. But really, if Santa can’t do silly bands, there is a problem!!!
She gave Santa a sweet hug and thanked him for her new coloring book. She came over to me and said “Can we go ride the train now?”
We went through the maze and walked through the kiddie houses and then did some shopping and came home!
