I've been meaning to post this for months but keep forgetting!! Doing the Got Guns? post below reminded me. Just for the memory books....
Gracie has always loved to race. She talked about racing classmates from time to time and we started noticing how extremly fast she was. The first time I noticed really was when we were at the beach 2 years ago she was way behind us and raced to catch up to us. It was like lightning. Literally so fast and she pumps her arms back and forth like a professional. So for time to time she'd talk about racing friends and then she started telling us after school how she had beat everyone in a race, even the boys. Then she told us her teachers said she's the fasted in the school. We laughed at this but really didn't think too much.
It wasn't until May when we went to Gracie's school for her end of year program. I was taking her back to her class before it started and we ran into a little boy from her class. The boy was with his dad. The conversation when something like this.
Little boy: 'Hi Gracie!"
Gracie : "Hi."
Little boy's dad: "That's Gracie? This is the Gracie that beats everyone in races?
Me: With a baffled look????
Little boy's Dad: "Matthew has been begging us to buy him some new running shoes so he could have a chance to beat Gracie in a race?"
We laughed so hard at this, Pop especially liked this!!
Then later on Kelly had been taking Gracie to the park and she has been playing with a few boys. One boy asked her to race and she took off Kelly said she was very far behind him when he asked to race and she whipped up on him too. A few weeks later the boy was back and on his bike. He asked Gracie to race again and she took off and beat him on his bike!
I think it's so funny that my girl looks all sweet and innocent but inside she's tougher than nails!
Go Gracie!!
