So my day started off at 5:30 this morning. My time to get up on a school day. On a non-school day that is really not fun. Tessa started growling at something. I yelled at her but she still kept going and ended up waking up Gracie around 5:45, not fun. When I went to get Gracie she said “Good Morning Mommy!” She wanted to watch Barney so I did bring her back to bed to watch a little tv while I tried to catch a few more z’s. Paci update: She did great all night!! I was so proud of her!
We stayed busy all day. Life with a 2 year old is BUSY! We blew up little kiddie pools, Tessa attacked it and punctured holes in it so we had to take it back and try again. This time Tessa remained in her kennel for the fun. Gracie didn’t want to bring it outside we put it in her play room and she dumped nearly the entire room into it!
We ran a few errands and stayed more busy. It was HOT outside so we played with water guns and water balloons. Then on a complete whim, I took Gracie to get her hair cut. Her hair was really long and stringy. She rarely let me put it up so I decided it was time. Here is a before…. See, long and stringy
Here it is now! I LOVE IT. So cute!! She wouldn’t sit in the chair alone so she sat on my lap and got almost 6 inches cut off! I had the lady save some of the hair for me because it was not her first hair cut, but her first BIG cut.
Not the best picture. I brought my camera fully intending to snaps pics as she was getting her hair cut that with her sitting in my lap that didn’t happen! As we were leaving she said “I want a balloon, yed-o balloon.” How could I resist? So we went across the street to Tom Thumb and got a white and yellow balloon.
She took a great nap, 2 hours. I was so thrilled to get some peace and quiet myself! As soon as she woke up we went to visit Papaw and had a snack with him. He had dinner, we had fruit and chocolate pudding. All the people in his place just LOVE Gracie. My mom takes her there every Tuesday so they all know her and the ladies just eat her up, literally. She was very good though and waves and high fives most of them. She doesn’t like the ones that swarm her and kiss her but who can blame her??
It was another good day and she’s in bed now which is nice for me. The one part that I didn’t mention because I didn’t want to is that Kelly is out of town. He left Friday for a bachelor party in Nebraska for the weekend. That is has been hard on me! Not only was he gone, but my parents too. So I’ve been dog-sitting and trying to keep up with her. I had all these HIGH expectations (I really thought I could potty and paci train her!) I thought I’d have all this time to clean my house, catch up on laundry, work on blogs, but that has not happened. This is the first time today that I have turned on the computer. But Kelly is now on his way home so, Yay!! We are also getting radiant barriers and more insulation in our attic tomorrow. It’s supposed to be energy efficient and will help cool our house down. I must really be old to be excited about radiant barriers and more insulation in the attic! But it is so hot here our house just cannot keep up. I am really hoping this helps because it is expensive!
I’m ready to wrap up my last week of school so I can be DONE and free!!
Happy Memorial Day!
