We FINALLY have...

A WALKER!!! Our Ramsey has decided that walking is just sorta fun! This was last week and he's doing better every day. Go Ramsey, Go!!

first up the jumperoo. I  posted this on facebook. He discovered how to actually use the jumperoo and he LOVES it :) This was last week so he's even better now. He jumps ALL day long!

Next up is his roll over. He'd been rolling over just 2 days when I got this. At this point though, he'd done it at least 5 times right before I got my camera so he was getting MAD!

Ramsey Smiles - Video

One of these days I need to just put solid videos in a post. I have several and they are fun to watch! Here's one of Ramsey and Gracie together :)

Certain times of the day Ramsey gets in really sweet, good moods. If you can catch him just right he'll just smile when you talk to him. Melts our hearts! He's just on the verge of "talking" back with little cooing noises and such. It's just so cute. We love him!

Swimmer Update

We were all set to have Gracie begin a survival swimming class that would teach her what to do if she feel in and really how to survive if she had to. The program is wonderful but also  very costly! After going back and forth with Kelly about it and much debating we decided not to do it. She's 4 and 1/2 now plus with our pool we swim pretty much every single day, sometimes twice a day. The program would work for her but is best to start at 1 year. So, Guess who has been her private lesson teacher? ME! I've been teaching her basic skills (pretty much she'd already learned) but she picks up on stuff so quickly. We still use the puddle jumper but she mostly swims without it. The puddle jumper makes us feel more secure. When she's without it you have to watch her like a hawk!  So here they are... This was all yesterday...







She now swims in the deep end (with us right there) and can swim from one deep end side to the other deep in side. We always stay right there with her. I worry about her getting too tired so I watch her carefully and don't let her swim too long. Sometimes we'll be in the pool for 45 minutes to an hour but she's not swimming the whole time. I make her rest! Swimming does wear her out though. After nap swimming means she sleeps good at night :)

Snow Videos

Here are some videos I took when we got snow several weeks ago. It’s so weird to see how much snow we got! We had a lot! The day before this big snow storm we had 70 degree temps. Now 3 weeks later we’ve had 70 degree temps again & now we’re supposed to get another ‘arctic blast’ like last time and have possible snow AGAIN. We’ll see. I don’t think Gracie would mind. She sure loved the snow

Gracie’s Name…

I love how she says her name now. Something like “Gracie Uhh-lizabth Gauger”

Just a side note on her. She’s going through somewhat of a weird phase. (and I do hope it’s a phase) where she thinks it’s okay to throw up. A few weeks ago she threw up in the car on the way to school. The stomach bug was going around so Kelly went home with her. I had a bag in the car that I gave her to use in case she was going to get sick again. Well several times in the car on the way to Nebraska and home she’d say “I gonna throwed up, I need a baggie.” She never did but the first time she did it, she sure got a big reaction from us. Nothing like saying you’re going to throw up in the car to get your parents to freak out. She was doing it again tonight with her food. She even made herself throw up a little bit. It’s so gross and I hope she gets out of this not so fun phase!!

Sweetness

One thing I will never get tired of is hearing Gracie talk and sing. Something about little girls/boys at this age just have the sweetest voices ever. Here are 2 videos of her singing some songs before bed.

When we took her to church with us last week the children’s choir was singing ‘Jesus Loves Me’. Well Gracie just busted out the song too. I had no idea she knew it!

Painting Pumpkins

The day after Halloween Gracie came home with a little pumpkin she had gotten at her school’s pumpkin patch. She was really wanting to paint so I let her. I feel like poor Gracie got a little jipped this year on doing fun fall-ish stuff. We’ve been so busy with the house and me being sick we didn’t even make it our usual pumpkin patch. I guess there is always next Fall!

 

It was a super nice day so we stayed outside for awhile and just talked. I love the little conversations we have. Sometimes she says the funniest things!!!

She has been talking a lot about Santa recently. I’m not sure where it all came from but she says this year she is going to sit in his lap and not cry. She was so terrified of Santa last year we didn’t even see him. I can’t wait to see what she really does!!!

Jack n’ Jill…

Gracie has a Barney book of nursery rhymes. For some reason her favorite one of all is Jack & Jill. She even sang it and Mary Had a Little Lamb on camera.

How it all played out…

Gracie and I were home alone one afternoon as Kelly had Back to School Night for 5th grade. We were playing together in her play room and she said “Mommy, I need to poo-poo.” I said “okay, lets go to the potty.” but not really thinking anything because this has happened before with no luck. Well, this was different. She went right in and did her business. We were BOTH SO EXCITED!! Literally we were jumping up and down!

This certain little someone always seems to remember when we promise her something! A few months ago she wanted a new baby but we said no. We told her that if she started using the potty like a big girl then she could get it. I couldn’t resist, so we jumped in the car and raced to Target!

She’s pretty funny! Yea Gracie, We are SO proud of you. Keep it up!!
