Just a few pictures from last week I need to catch up on…
Gracie and I took Kelly to the spaceship park last week. He was really impressed!
Here is our little astronaut…
Baskin Robbins ice cream at 35 cent cone night. Well, we missed the night because my days were all off but we stayed and still had ice-cream!
We all shared strawberry ice cream and she actually had a few bites. It was yummy!
Something I haven’t posted yet is that Gracie is no longer going to Lisa’s house. It was very unexpected and sad (harder on me than anyone!). But Lisa decided mid day (pretty much) that she needed to close her in home day care and she and her husband are moving. They are going through some family issues and need to have time to work on them. It was very dramatic. To say we were shocked doesn’t even come close. We were stranded in mid week too. Kelly took off a day and I took off a day because GG was busy with Papaw too. The hardest part is that Gracie does not understand at all. We still see Lisa’s house at least 3-4 times a day when we drive by. We did have a chance to say goodbye to her and Gracie made her a sweet card. She’ll say “Lisa moved, just like Abbie.” but she doesn’t get what that means. She still asks to go to her house but we think she says this just for fun??? Because after she’ll say “Noooo, Lisa moved, just like Abbie.” We luckily were able to go to Misty’s house just like she went last year 2 x a month when I worked part time. It was a miracle she had an opening because she had been getting lots of inquiries. So for now Gracie is really , really happy. She made a completely smooth transition. Way better that I was expecting. I was expecting the worse. I cried more than she did! She did cry a little but we were able to do 1/2 days for 2 times to get her used to it all. She’s with some friends from before and doing really good. Phew. As they say, kids are resilient and that is TRUE. They handle change better than adults!
We are looking for something more stable for next year closer to us so we won’t have to worry about this happening again. I don’t think my heart can take it!
