Weekend Fun

We had a pretty low key weekend. We were supposed to go to 2 park birthday parties for fun friends turning 2 but one was post-poned to next weekend.

Saturday morning bright and early was Aidan’s park party. Friday it rained all day so we were concerned with the weather but every thing was all good! Here is the birthday boy! He calls Gracie “Gracie- Lou” (because Lisa did and it’s so cute!) She loves her some “Mr. Shaefer” as she calls him.

Miss Lisa actually came to the party too. I was a little concerned and only told Gracie about it the day before (no reason to let her be anxious about it!). I told her that Lisa was coming to the party but that she is moving (because they are). Gracie was shy at first and seemed a little confused to be seeing all her friends again but soon she opened up and had a great time.

I’m the one that tried to organize a little group photo with all the kids that went to Miss Lisa’s house and all the kids joined in except my little girl. She flat out refused to sit on the bench with her friends. I tried but she was kicking and screaming. Not a pretty sight.

Just a little side note, the one on the far right in the green shirt is the one Gracie supposedly pushed up against the wall that day. You wouldn’t know it, he loves her to pieces and calls her “sissy” .  

The boys took off for the trails and finally Gracie decided to grace us with her presence and hopped up on the bench.

It was a really low-key party which was nice. We had fun snacks, bubbles and sidewalk chalk. It was really pretty there too at the Allen Nature Preserve.

That’s about all we did for the morning. Our other party got post-poned because the poor birthday boy was sick. I have had a migraine for 4 days in a row off and on so I laid around a lot and tried to sleep it off. Not fun.

Sunday it was hot so we let Gracie play outside with water. I think she looks so big in this picture!

I am so happy that our school weekends are coming to an end. Pretty soon we’ll be out for the summer to have more fun in the sun!
