Just a little recap on our 1st week of summer. We’ve been busy, hot, sick, tired, happy, & more!
We completed 3/4 days of swim class this week. Gracie got a fever the last day so I didn’t even attempt to take her. Hopefully we can catch up on what me missed next week.
Kelly started summer school and it’s going good. He’s helping kids that failed the math TAKS. They take it again before summer school gets out, so one more chance to pass! He’s working with 5th graders from all over Plano. He leaves around 6:45 and gets home by 1:15 ish. It’s still a busy day for him but it’s nice to be home and done for the day by 1:30!
Gracie has taken a complete interest/obsession with Dora these days. Only she says “I wanna watch Dora, Boots, & Swiper, P-uhh-leeee-ze!” I need to record some more episodes. We only have 4 on DVR right now and I’m getting sick of them!!!
It’s been really hot here with the exception of Tues/Wed. Some areas just east of here got 10 inch of rain in a matter of hours. Us? NOTHING. It’s crazy how weird weather is like that. We got all new radiant barriers/extra insulation on our house. It wasn’t cheap. We’re hoping to helps keep the hot air OUT. I know it will be a good tax break for us at least for 2010 taxes. It’s just too hot here in the afternoons and our 1 unit can’t keep up. Plus we have really tall ceilings in some rooms that suck up all the cool air. I also hate having our bedroom upstairs. NEVER again!
Gracie had a fever for 24 hours yesterday. No other symptoms at all. Really weird. Not even a sniffle. The highest was 102.3. Even though that’s low for some people, it was high for me. She never has a fever. She was mopey and clingy all day yesterday. She really tested my patience. Kelly came home and she clung to me more and wanted me all day. She screamed and cried for me. I was getting a little tired of it! She woke up this morning good as new. She’s been running around jumping, her little happy self again.
Gracie is SLOWLY sleeping in more and more. I do mean very slowly! She started off waking up around 6:10-6:15. Then it was 6:20-6:30. Today it was 6:45. I heard Kelly get up and then leave so I was awake but it was nice to stay in bed for a few more minutes. Maybe next week she’ll even go to the 7th hour. I have high hopes!!!
Gracie has been loving these little photo albums I made before I had her. You know, when I literally had all the time in the world with no interruptions!! I made one showing me through the pregnancy and another one from going to the hospital then getting home. She says “Zat me as a baby?” Her obsession is this one picture of me and Kelly right as we were putting her in the car. I am pale as a ghost still and have her paci in my hand. She says “Zat mine? My paci for me as a baby?” Then she says “I don’t need the paci anymore, I’m a big girl!” (I wish she would use the potty like a big girl. I have completely stopped trying right now. I’m giving her some space!)
I think that’s about it for us for now!
