We were very big people today and took the Dart train to downtown Dallas for some lunch!
It was pretty nice weather and Gracie was super excited to ride on the train, her first time!!
something spilled on my camera lens so that’s why all the pics look a little foggy. (luckily it was just my purse camera!!) Gracie changed seats no less than 30 times and even tried changing while we were going. We had to make over 15 stops and she just was so confused why we weren’t getting off. Finally I put her by me and fed her some snacks and she was good to go!
This is where we had lunch, sonny bryans’ barbecue. Kinda random, but I am a mystery shopper for a company and this place came available. Basically I eat something specific and go home and critique the service, food, location and then get reimbursed for my food plus a little bonus. Today, just my meal will be paid for but it was fun to get out and ride around Dallas! I had a chopped beef sandwich with okra and Kelly had a sausage sandwich with beans and fries. It was really, really yummy! We love barbeque. Gracie had some pretzels, raisins, and a little bit of pb & j. She was too interested on dancing in her chair and talking to other people.
This was Gracie at lunch.
She did this nearly every time she saw me get out my camera. She is in a non-picture taking mood these days. Maybe I’ve taken too many of her????
See….
You think she’s trying to tell me something???
We had to get a little creative with the camera and trick her!
I have to say that the West End in Dallas was DEAD. Like totally. So sad. I guess things have just built so much up north where we are that no one is out anymore. It’s really neat down there. It was just a Thurs. lunch time so maybe on the weekends things are more full.
Gracie couldn’t wait to get back on the train. It was very crowded on our way home. We had to smush in 2 seats with 3 people and a stroller. And lets just say we were in the minority. Just sayin.
We were all tired when we got home. We had a fun morning and made some good memories together!!

Looks like fun! We made a point of taking the DART somewhere at least once or twice a year when we lived there. The boys loved it! On a not so hot day, I suggest the Dallas Zoo, too, b/c the DART stops right at the gate to the zoo! They have that fab children's zoo, too, I just remembered! Looks like our fellow teacher friends are enjoying their summer. We signed up for kidsbowlfree.com and the kids get to bowl up to 2 free games per day, so we've been going at least once a week. Today we were driving around town after bowling, and thinking how cool that we are BOTH off of work in the summer! Silly people who aren't teachers... :) Sorry for the novel! P.S. The pool movie was at our friends' house where we stayed the night when we were in town. So fun!
I've always wanted to do a mystery shopping gig! What did you go through to do it? Glad y'all had fun...I've taken the kids on the Dart a couple times to see Daddy downtown and it's a fun adventure for them :)
