Driving, Water Park & Sand Castles

Nebraska, Day 1
We left for our long journey to Nebraska on Wed. the 14th. We scooted out the door around 8 (which is pretty good with last minute packing and such!). Gracie did so good in the car. My plan was to start off in front. I told her I needed to help Kelly drive, ha! (worked great!) Otherwise I'd be stuck in the back entertaining her and that is exhausting and not to mention I can get car sick that way too. So for the first 90 minutes we barely heard a peep out of her. Seriously. She just played with her little baby and was happy as a lark. Around 9:30 we all had a banana for a snack.

She closed her eyes on purpose!
Then I put on a video for her and she was good until lunch.

We stopped in Ok. City and had Braums for lunch. She was soooo good. We got back in the car and she even took a very little snooze (45 min) and it was good and quiet. I started reading "The Help" (soooo good, I could not put it down). She watched a few more videos. I kept thinking I'd have to hop in the back with her but she never even made a cry. She would get upset when the videos were over and say "It's over!!" and I'd pop another one back in. Really, what else are you supposed to do in the car???

We stopped just 2 more times for fast potty breaks. Our last stop we saw this

It was scary being out in the middle of corn fields and seeing this funnel cloud start to form. Luckily we started going and got just a little rain then the storm went on. Phew!
We made it safe and sound around 7:30 and we were so glad to get out of the car!! At 8:30 that night she said 'I reddy to go night-night". She was pooped!!

Thursday morning I feel this tap, tap and hear "Mommy, I'm up." I look over and Gracie is nose to nose with me and it's 7:35!! She slept in :)

Grandma had bought Gracie's favorite DVD, Dora. Gracie and Grandma watched one together.

Grandma, Gracie, and I went to the grocery store to pick up some of her favorite things to eat. We ate a early  lunch then headed to the Columbus water park.

We got there right when it opened at 12 and stayed for a few hours. It was warm out and the water felt so good! We were one of the 1st few people there so it was fun!

She just played, played, played with Grandma and had so much fun splashing around!

I took some fun videos but I think I will make a separate post of just the videos!

Kelly went with us and went down the big slides over and over. Something there called the toilet bowl where you are dropped into this spinning tube and you spin around forever. Not my kind of thing. I did ride the tubes with him once though!
We left around 2. Gracie had a little snack then was down for a nice, long nap. She slept about 2 and 1/2 hours!! Later in the afternoon Kelly and Grandpa went to play golf. We went to walmart to get some baby stuff and then we met them at the golf coarse. They had a sand volleyball court and Gracie was all over the sand. She and Grandma built some castles together.

That was about it for the 1st day. It was a full day!!
