If you read McMommy’s blog (and you should!) you probably read her post ‘Who Writes a Blog Post at 3 am?”. I know we’ve all been there and it seems to happen to me a lot. Like today for example. Gracie has been waking us (me) up at the pure butt crack of dawn. Today it was around 5 and it was a Saturday morning. I’ve gotten good at not saying anything. She needed to potty so I helped her in the bathroom then right back to sleep. I was back in bed by 5:07 but then I could not go back to sleep. I hate that.!!Even though it was a Saturday and maybe, just maybe I could get in a half hour-60 min of sleep, I didn’t. Here were my thoughts…
Why is Gracie getting up so early? I hope she’s not getting sick…
I need to get sub plans ready sometime soon because I know she’s going to get sick again being around so many germs now….
What do I have left to do for her party? Do I send out the evite or the cute picture card I made? Oh geez I hope it doesn’t rain at her party. Will worry about that at another time. … (we’re having a park party) Maybe I’ll send out a ‘save the date’ pic and then do the evite too.
Is that Gracie I hear coming back in our room? No, just Jack… She’s probably going to be back in here any minute…
It’s 5:35 still awake…
How can Kelly sleep so peacefully and now worry about all this kind of stuff??
I think I’ve gotten a good head start on Christmas shopping but I have a lot left to do too.
How am I ever going to write sub plans with the crazy kids I have this year? A sub is going to run out screaming. I can never be absent, what am I going to do?
Rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat of all this same stuff….. then around 6:15 I have a “Mommy, I’m up now cuz it’s not dark out anymore.”
Now I did not get up and actually write this post at 5am but I did around 7:30 when Gracie was all settled eating breakfast.
So, what about you? What is going on in your brain at 3am or 5am???

You're hilarious! I can't believe you are thinking about Christmas shopping. That seems so distant to me! The most random things come through my head when I'm laying in bed too, glad I'm not the only one :)
