I’ve been meaning to post that Gracie is finally done with pull ups at school. She finally, finally got over her fear of going #2 at school and has been going on a regular basis for about 3 weeks now. We are so proud and finally, we can cross that off the list! It just all the sudden happened one day and her teachers made a BIG deal about it. I started putting her in panties and she just kept on going like a big girl. YEA!
Doesn’t she look cute in her little Baylor t? Finally, she gets to wear Mommy’s team shirt!!
Since turning 3 Gracie’s full on ‘sassiness’ has come out. I guess the shirt she is wearing below is very appropriate. She has said a few things here or there that have made me not so happy. Like this: we had just walked in the door for school. I was getting dinner ready and asking her something about school. She replied “I’m not talking to you Mommy!” It wasn’t even said with laughter or anything it was a full on I am not talking to you. Period. Rude uhh? I did have a ‘stern’ talk to her and reminded her that Santa was watching and listening to her (Love this time of year for that Santa watch!!)
Speaking of Santa- he better watch out. Gracie has been announcing out loud about EVERYTHING she sees that “Maybe Santa will bring me this. Maybe, right?” or “I want that from Santa!” I had to tell her that Santa has a budget and will get her just a few toys but not EVERYTHING!! But tonight in the bath she said she wanted a real baby brudder (brother) from Santa. I had to tell her that sometimes Santa can’t get you everything you want. Yikes!!
Here are some other funnies she’s said recently:
In the car Kelly always listens to sports radio and they were talking about Nebraska football. She said “Hey, they just said Nebraska Daddy!”
Also in the car she repeated something from the radio traffic report “Stick it up your tailpipe. Ha ha!!”
To some cookies “Mommy, those are gross.”
She is really noticing words more and more and wants to know what things say. Tonight she brought me a shirt and said “Mommy, what does this say?” while pointing to the tag.
Randomly throughout the day (or nights) she comes up to both of us and squeezes us tight and says “Mommy/Daddy, I LOOOOOVVVVE You.”
Then the funniest: “Mommy, I don’t need a high chair anymore.” (for when we go out to eat. Ha, ha. We’ll see about that one!)
She loves singing ‘Old McDonald’ and changing the words like this: “Old McDonald had some sneezes” or “Old McDonald had some cinnamon rolls”
I love my little pumpkin but she does give me a run for my $$ with her strong personality sometimes!!!
