We went to Nebraska this year for Thanksgiving. Gracie had been asking for weeks when we were finally going to go. When it was time she was so excited! She kept saying “we have to be in the car a really long time?” YES! It was a nice drive up and Gracie did GREAT! We can’t believe how good she can be. She played with babies, talked, sang, and watched a few movies. We got just into Nebraska and holy cow the cold air hit so. When we left our house it was 65 at 7:30 on the morning and we hit 25 degree temps. CRAZY! We had a good first night and when we woke up the next day it was already Turkey Day!
Grandma and worked ALL day the day before getting everything all ready for our yummy lunch. It was just the 5 of us for lunch that day and everything was sooo good. Gracie especially loved the rolls!
Kelly carved his first turkey and he did a good job too.
Gracie supervised and helped get some pieces off the fork.
After our yummy lunch we bundled up and went outside to play with the dogs. It was FREEZING, but Gracie had fun chasing the neighbor’s dogs.
We put Gracie down for a nap and Kelly and Grandpa watched football while Grandma and I did some pre-black Friday shopping. We hit up Wal-Mart around 1:30 and there was hardly anyone there. Gracie racked up on good stuff that Grandma and Grandpa sent back with Gracie for Christmas!
Later that afternoon the cousins Easton and Matison came over. Let me just say, thank goodness for portable DVD players. Most times we had 2 going at the same time to keep the kids happy
The kids had fun playing together and Gracie was so excited to find out that Easton and Mati were going to spend night at Grandma’s too!!
The next day was still cold but after lunch we got the kids bundled up to go out for a bit. Kelly was gone all day to the Nebraska football game. We tried for a group pic of the kids but it wasn’t easy!
These 2 were the best of many…
I did get a cute one with the Gauger’s and all their grandkids..
I ‘winterized’ the color to the photo above!!
That’s it for now…. to be continued!
