I’m linking up to Kelly’s Korner again this week. It’s all about how you stay organized. I don’t really think I am that organized but I probably am more than most people! I have to say that our house is on the market right now so everything that I use REALLY helps when we have a showing to get all house hold things (mostly toys) put away fast!
We’ll start in the living room/tv room. Before our house went market ready, we did a HUGE clean out and put a lot of stuff in storage to make our house look bigger. This included our huge coffee table. So we have these storage bins that can serve as a mini table!
The storage bins were bought at Target over a year ago but you can find them pretty much everywhere. These were $20 a piece. I’d show you the inside but it might scare you! These work great for anything. Our hold blankets, shoes, computer cords, magazines, and more!
Next is our loft area.
We have a small space between bedrooms upstairs. A few years ago we made it a tv/computer/play area for extra toys. The shelving came from IKEA and the storage bins you can get at Target or Wal-Mart for less than $5. It’s a quick clean up if anything gets played with or taken out. It also holds a few photo albums and blog books that I didn’t want in storage.
Then the play room..
We have one bedroom downstairs so a few years ago we made it a playroom for our daughter. Best decision EVER! Now she has her own space for playing and her toys don’t seem to end up all over the house. She still brings stuff into our tv room but it’s easy to throw stuff back in there!
Playroom closet:
Maybe not the greatest looking but pretty organized. The containers hold her crayons/paper stuff, bigger toys that don’t fit on shelves, and my craft/photo stuff. She does make a mess in here but pretty easy to tidy up quick.
Here’s another shot of the big toy unit.
Once again, IKEA shelves and Target bins. I’d love to say all of her toys are organized in these bins, but they are not. I think it’s harder with girl toys? Most boys I know play with cars, trains, and other smaller toys. Girl toys are bigger. Mostly doll stuff and books. I’ve attempted to have certain toys in the certain bin but it never worked. Especially with our house. Most times before showings or at night when she’s in bed I’m throwing stuff anywhere in there to get it straightened up!
That’s about it!
Here’s little Gracie doing play-dough this morning! I’m interested in reading about how everyone else stays organized!

Love your pics! Organization makes me happy...you're definitely a pro at it :) We also have an Ikea shelving unit in our playroom. We also have a rectangular ottoman coffee table in our living room...best thing we ever bought, because it's filled with cords, scrapbooking junk, blankets, space heater, remotes we don't use, etc. To keep our house from being overtaken by toys, everything has its place. At the end of the day, toys that go in the upstairs playroom, Aidan's room, Avery's room, downstairs playroom...all go back where they belong. I'm a little OCD about it...otherwise it drives me crazy. And yeah, I'd say boys' toys are easier to organize, Legos go in the lego box, Batman characters go in the batcave, Hotwheels go in the Hotwheel carrier. Avery doesn't really have a "place" for all her Disney princesses. Sorry for the long post! Your house looks great :)
