If you didn’t already know it, we were in Nebraska for Christmas! We left last Tuesday and the drive up there wasn’t bad at all. We made only 3 stops and got in around 6:30 at night. There was already snow on the ground left-over from the previous week. The next day we woke up to even more snow and more on the way! Gracie got to spend some quality time with her Grandparents, especially her Grandma. Her Grandma let her do everything I don’t! She painted Grandma’s nails and put lotion on her and lipstick. She had the best time!
Christmas Eve day the cousins got to come over and play. It was fun to have all the kids together!
We went to church that night and come home to open presents. We let the kids go first and Gracie was in heaven. Except she thought EVERY present was hers. Literally. She kept saying “Zat’ Mine? Zat’ Mine?” I made a mistake and let her open what we were gave Matison, and she thought it was hers! I know she had a great time though!
I didn’t get many good pictures because I was trying to watch her open things too.
One things for sure, I did NOT have to help her open anything this year. She was tearing into things so fast! Easton was very content in Matison’s chair eating some M& M’s!
After several more M&M’s for these 2 they started going CRAZY!
They started attacking Auntie Amber!
I finally put her to bed around 8:45! She never stays up that late! She racked up on fun presents though. She got a Vtech laptop, some cute Husker gear, books, games, cute pj’s and an adorable outfit, the adorable little people nativity, princess cleaning set, crayola stuff, and so much more!
The next day, Christmas Day, we woke up to a major blizzard! Snow was coming down and the winds picked up. We couldn’t leave the house. We just played with toys and ate. Gracie and Easton helped cook :)
The day after Christmas we had planned on coming home but there was still too much snow and we didn’t want to risk getting stuck (lots of roads were closed) so we stayed another day. We really wanted to get out and play some in the snow. Auntie Amber was double dog dared to run and jump in a huge snow bank piled up outside. She did it, of coarse!
This is what she jumped in:
The snow stopped for little bit so we bundled Gracie up all again and went out in the snow.
This is what we got in the one second we put her down:
Once we picked her up she was happy as a lark!
It sure was fun, but VERY cold!!
The next day we left around 7:30 and I couldn’t believe all the snow we saw driving through the town.
This is snow blowing across the road as we were driving!
After 12.5 LONG HOURS we made it home safe and sound. (It was the LONGEST CAR RIDE OF MY LIFE!) Gracie was a complete angel considering our DVD player broke. She slept 2 hours in the morning and then again from 5:30-7:30 at night. We were so glad to get home!! (And surprised to see a little snow left over from the white Christmas we missed while we were gone!)

12 hours!!???? And the DVD player broke??!! So sad for you guys, but glad you had a fun Christmas with Kelly's family. You got some really sweet pictures of Gracie with her Grandma!
I love the retro Little People sets, I've seen those and they remind me of the ones I had when I was little! Glad y'all made it home okay :) Did you manage to pack the little red car? The snow looks like it was fun even though Gracie didn't enjoy it...I feel her pain, I am not a snow lover!!
I love your snow pictures and I'm sooo glad that Grandma and Grandpa Gauger got to spend quality time with the most precious little girl in the world! I did miss you all terribly though. GG
