We LOVE weekends around here (especially long weekends, thank you MLK!). Today we haven’t been very productive and it has been wonderful!
I did take Jack to the vet this morning and he lost weight. Like, a lot. 10 pounds in a year in fact. I was scared to death thinking he was going to have a parasite or heart worms or something but all his tests came back good. We went for his annual shots so nothing special. Dr. Taylor said Jack looked really good. Kelly’s been walking him a lot more so we guess that’s it!
Gracie was very concerned about where I was going with Jack and even acted like she was going to cry when we left. She was so happy to see him come home with me. Gracie stayed home with Kelly while I was gone because we were expecting someone to come over.
We got all new cable today and we are SO happy (so far!) We have had Direct TV for almost 6 years and we hated every minute with it. Anytime we got a little sprinkle we would lose service but they bind you in the contracts and charge to cancel. So today we made the switch to AT &T. It so so fun! We got all new HD service (which Direct TV said it wasn’t possible in our house???) and now we can record up to 4 shows at once. Plus we can pause a recording and go upstairs and finish watching it. The almost best part is that AT & T is paying us to get out of or Direct TV contract. Pretty cool! And now our bills will all be in one (wireless, phone, cable) so it is cheaper. It took the man over 3 1/2 hours to do it all so we had to stay here the whole morning.
Gracie was just so good. I don’t know the last day where we didn’t do anything at all. She just played and played.
Lots of play time with her babies
Giving her baby a haircut
She got this fun dress up trunk from Maxum for Christmas and she loves it. She’s not into wearing all the pretty gowns and shoes yet but I know she will be. Her favorite thing in it? The microphone and the pom poms!
We got some strange news this week from our babysitter about Gracie. When I picked her up she told me Gracie had some ‘issues’ that day and she would have to call me later to tell me more. I was really upset wondering and wondering what she was talking about. My child having issues???
So finally she called and proceeded to tell me that Gracie has been showing some aggressive behavior to the other kids. She pulled a little girl’s hair (hard) and then pushed a little boy up against the wall and had him pressed there. Really???? I’m not making excuses at ALL for her but she is the oldest there. And by a lot. She’s 2 and the next one to be 2 is in May. I think so that’s a pretty big age difference for the only one next to her age. Also, she’s there such a long time. Like some days she’s there 9 1/2 – 10 hours. Because we teach in Plano and it starts so early we have to drop her off and then meetings and getting home. It’s not a short day that’s for sure. I’d be pushing too if I was with those kids all day long too :)
Lisa called to ask if there was something going on at home or if I’d seen this behavior from her before. Boy did I feel like the tables were turned having been a teacher for all these years having to ask this same thing to numerous parents! But no, nothing is going on at home and we have NEVER seen that from her at all. Yes, she’s grabbed toys out of kids hands but that’s it. Some of the kids are ‘scared’ of her now she said and also acting out like her because they’ve watched her. So, needless to say we were pretty shocked. I was upset over it too because I want to hear only good things! We’ve decided we need to just watch more and talk a lot more about being nice to friends and maybe not play so rough with her at night. Kelly does the playing but not really rough but it’s something we need to watch. For now though it has become a joke around here. Like, be careful or our daughter will shove you up against the wall!!! (We would not be joking if she was older than 2 and or really hurting the other kids.) It does give us something to work on!
Does this look like the face of a Bully???
We don’t think so!
In true movie star fashion, she did NOT want her photo taken in her car!
Sorta singing Monkies Jumpin on the Bed
Back to this fun, lazy Saturday. We’re playing dress up and watching our new HD channels and playing with babies. And we’re not pushing each other up against the walls!!

I kinda got a sinking feeling in my stomach reading about what your babysitter said. . . this was the first time I had thought about being on the receiving end of a phone call like that! Bless your hearts!
Oh my goodness....Gracie a bully??? I can't believe that. She's way too cute to even think about her being a bully. lol.
On a brighter note...AT &T has been so good to us! Hope you enjoy!! :)
