Gracie’s New Trick

Gracie has a few new tricks I’ve been meaning to post. The first one is this.

She is all over the ‘silly face’. She used to turn her head and hide from the camera, well now she does this. And when she starts, she does NOT stop as I will show you in a post later.

The other trick is now she gets out of bed on her own. It started in Nebraska because we were all sleeping in the same room. She slept in a toddler bed that she was able to get out of easily. In the mornings she’d get out and come over to my side. Well, now she does it at home. At first it wasn’t bad, she was sleeping in until almost 7 and it was heaven!! There were a few afternoons where she didn’t want to sleep and she’d get out. But I’d put her right back in. Then at the beach I slept with her and she’d once again get out and come find me. So now it’s pretty much a habit. It’s not too terribly bad but she always comes to MY side. NEVER goes to Kelly’s side. Why is that?? Since we’ve been back from the beach she’s been waking up around 6:30 which is okay but 7 sure is better!!

**Update

I started typing this post last night and saved it to finish up today. Well, the little stinker must have known I was writing about her new trick because this morning she got out of bed around 4:30 and came into our room, “Mommy, I up.” I was so mad! I carried her back to bed and said “no, it’s dark out. Go back to sleep.” Well, this continued on throughout the night again at 5, 5:30, AND  6. I made Kelly get up with her at 5:30 because he nicely slept through the other times. She was back again at 6:30 and I finally let her in bed with us. I was exhausted! I’m hoping it was just a fluke. If she does it again we might have to put a lock on her door :)
