While Grandma was here we took all advantage of our time by squeezing in as much fun as we could. Gracie and I even played hookie from school on a Monday so we could stay home and play. We did very little of staying home though. So what did we do on our day off? Shopping, and more shopping! We hit the outlet mall and Home Goods to stock up on good stuff! Then we went to the Purple Cow to eat lunch and show Grandma the fountains.
Okay so I totally told Gracie that when she turned 3 she COULD NOT sit in a high chair when we eat out. But guess what? I lied. Have I mentioned how much she LOVES high chairs? Well, she does. As soon as we tell her we are eating out she says (in her cute little voice) “They have a high chair for me?” I’ve tried saying “No they don’t.” or “those are for babies.” but it doesn’t work. She pouts until she gets her way. And guess what, she almost always gets her way. I guess it’s about choosing battles and well, I’ve lost this battle. She’ll be in a high chair until her big legs get stuck in one!! I know how most kids hate high chairs. Every where we go I have parents asking me how I get her to sit in one. I just smile and say “Well, she likes it.”
So back to Grandma…
I ONLY got this picture because I told Gracie I was just taking one of Grandma. You have to trick her and now she has caught on but at this moment, she fell for it:)
After shopping and lunch we went home so Gracie could nap. Grandma packed, enjoyed some of our nice weather, and then around 4 we left to pick up Kelly from school and then head to the airport. Gracie took FULL advantage of her time with Grandma in the backseat all weekend and begged her to read and reread and read again some of her neat-o books she got for her birthday. Gracie was so sad saying good-bye to Grandma. Thank you Grandma for coming down and celebrating Gracie’s big weekend with us!!

That is so funny about high chairs and Gracie! But i agree, pick your battles! I am so jealous you have a Home Goods. I love that store. And i meant to tell you on a earlier post i love the book idea gift for her birthday. Chandler loves to read and I think i just might steal that idea for her 4th birthday!!
